Class of 2011 Autograph Book

Reminisces Graduation Celebration 2011 paper collection was used to create this autograph book. Using some corrugated cardboard, I tore off some of the top layer, then applied distress stain (dusty concord) to bring in our school color. I also stained the border strip off the 'I Made It' paper. The dream is stamped, embossed, cut out and stained. The chipboard quote is perfect! Added a tassel, a few flowers, a 3D cap sticker from last years stash, a BHS brad, then it was all ready to put together. The inner pages are 6x8 index cards, (lined on one side only) used the Cinch and added some ribbons! Enjoy!

My Mom

Since my mom always has her cards up for months, I decided to give her a little something that won't be outdated on fathers day! I used a 6x12 canvas, and patterned papers from Reminisce In Bloom collection. Cover the front of canvas using Colors of Spring, paper punch strips of Power of Flowers and creasing them to wrap around to the back of the canvas. I used Beacons 3 in 1 for adhesive, then I cut 2-'M's out on the cricut utilizing the shadow feature. Then I fussy cut two alike flowers flowers from The Power of Flowers, gave them texture by dry embossing, a little ink, tied a knot in the end of some twine, put through the flower center and I had a O. Die cut a butterfly and fussy cut a lavender flower from Colors of Spring for a little more dimension a beautiful poem a few embellishments and something my mom can enjoy for a long time!!

I would like to introduce my niece Guinivere, shortened to Guin. She had a wonderful time at the park with the Bunny! The Bunny and grass areas are 3D, you can't really see that in the picture but it made a big difference in the finished layout. When the Bunny and grass were just paper the layout looked top heavy and I didn't want to remove the trim. I used some smooch, stickles and gel pens on the flowers and eggs!

I doubt my husband will recognize this bucket, it came with chili cheese fries. Of course I had to save the cute bucket they came in, he rolled his eyes I'm sure! I just covered it with paper and put the Chick stickers on the inside rim of the bucket. I used the tweet tweet border sticker on the outer rim of the bucket, some ribbons and egg stickers on the front, super fast and fun!

The last item I have to share with you today is a gift bag. This is another fun and easy project, I traced a gift bag template, (I had to add some cardstock to the bottom of the Easter paper so that I would have flaps to fold for the bottom of the bag) then I cut out another Bunny, (just his hands and head) and used pop dots to attach him. Then painted some chipboard banners, cut the sticker sayings apart so they made statements about the egg hunt, used smooch on some thin dowels to put it them all together.

Tabletop albums can now be made with new Tim Holtz Ring Binders!! Yes, I went and bought some already, there are even different sizes. No more waiting for my hubby to dismantle a 3x5 index card holder!! New ideas are starting already!

Being in the spotlight, I turned this Reminisce paper upside down! This mini album cover started out as a birthday card, it was too cute not to make into an album to hold all those pictures from the circus!! I used canvas painted red and white then pieced into a big top. Enjoy!

The following pictures are for what I call a tabletop album, I saw a picture of something like this last year and I had to come up with a way to to make it. Here it is, I bought a tabletop picture frame, took it all apart and used the cardboard backing, the part that will allow it to sit up-right on a table. Then I bought a 3x5 index- card book, the kind with the metal mechanism that opens, my loving husband pounded out the rivets holding the metal part to the plastic. I just used brads to attach the mechanism to the card board piece that I had already covered with paper. Then I just made little pages to go on the rings and decorated it all up using the Monkey Adventures line since it was so fitting for our trip! On the paper for the skiing pictures I put a little snow writer on some of the trees to make it even more fitting. In the word Colorado I used the I-top tool for the 'O' well I actually didn't use the tool, my hands are too small to use the tool. So I just put a thin piece of adhesive on the brad, lay my paper on it, give it a lite spray of water to help reduce the 'fold' marks and then folded everything to the back and squeezed the back piece on, works much better that way for me!

The next item I would like to share is for the pictures I have received from graduates over the years. What to do with them after they come off the refrigerator! I used a manila folder, cut off all the tabs, scored one more time on each side and then once about 3-4 inches from the bottom. I used Graduation Celebration to cover the folder and the chipboard quotes are perfect for embellishing! I know I have more pictures of Grads somewhere and I have plenty of pockets to put them in when I find them!

Where are the Lazy Days of Summer??

I couldn't figure out how to write something new on my blog, needless to say I will not be remembered for my computer skills!

Summer is here, softball is in full swing, summer camp is on the calendar. Sometimes I have to look at my calendar a couple times a day to make sure the kids are where they need to be! Thank goodness I have a retreat at the scrapbook store, I can go have some quiet creative time or chit-chat with friends.

My family and I went camping over Memorial Day, as always a bitter-sweet holiday, remembering the fallen and being grateful to those that serve our Country.

I am going to share a couple more Reminisce layouts I have completed, hopefully I remember how!!

Why am I starting a blog, there is a little story that started everything off. Mickey a friend of mine told me to submit a design to the County Fair, I did and was excited to win first prize, there were three total entries!

At Scrapfest 2009 Nancy M. was telling me that I should be submitting my scrapbook designs to magazines for publication possibilities. I kinda smiled and let her tell me all the ins and out of being published, to date I still haven't sent anything to a magazine.

Then in December, Tonya (my local store owner) showed me an email from Reminisce, they were having a contest to become a 'Design Team Member' she told me I had to send in the 'Monkey' layout! I already had several layouts done with Reminisce paper so we looked through the store and decided to send in 'Monsters' and 'Trick or Treat' too! The contest called for other items so I made a couple cards and a little Christmas House as well. I was very hush hush, I didn't want everybody to know that I was entering a contest, the chances were one in a million. I emailed everything by the contest deadline, not in my hands anymore, end of story. Or so I thought!

The morning the announcements were made I didn't even look at the website, I had secretly began hoping my layouts would be recognized and didn't want to be disappointed. When my husband told me I was runner-up I couldn't believe it, I had to see the website for myself and there it was! I called Tonya so excited, to this day I still am in awe. Then Reminisce still invited to join the Design Team, so cool!! I am going to post pictures of what I submitted.
